As we have heard just one comment above you tax collection cannot be upbeat where businesses are dying. Admittedly, there have also been a lot of leakages in tax collection and this is why so many KRA officers walisanyasanywa. Let’s hope the measures put in place will yield some fruit…if they are not sabotaged by the agents of corruption.

There’s a threshold beyond which you cannot tax the income of businesses…otherwise you increase the risk of tax evasion or ultimate closure of the business and/ or capital flight ie investors choose to move to other jurisdictions with more friendlier taxation regimes…
Don’t forget your Ruto guy is in the mix and is stealing most of the borrowed money.Nguruch
Siasa mbaya, maisha mbaya.
I resigned myself to the realities of living in the 3rd world long ago. I no longer care. It’s a circus.
Ironically, if we were to organise elections now, the same people who are suffering would vote in the same mis-leaders who continue to rob the country of it’s future.
Just compare the talking points in a Kenyan election and those in an election in an industrialised country and you realise the source of our problems;
[ul]
[li]Kenya - uganga, our tribe, mega projects, insults[/li][li]Industrialised - unemployment, healthcare, economic growth, sovereignity, trade, immigration etc[/li][/ul]
Things that would result in real gains for Kenyan people like unemployment rate, industrialisation and trade are never discussed. I would not be surprised if Uhuru does not even know the current unemployment rate.
I’ve long believed Kenyan people have a contract with those they elect - steal and give us handouts.
His processor has overheated.
Did one need to read this to know we are headed for a bumpy ride.
I dont know why you guys keep wasting time with Gashwin. He admitted here that he is paid by the regime to help spread their propaganda. Hamjawahi jiuliza why people like @Nattydread @Soprano @Meria Mata who campaigned for Jubilee ended up bitter? Juu waliambulia patupu. Gashwin na Spear wao bado wanalipwa
He knows the govt is fckued up but still want to clutch onto the already weak straw
But I was not expecting anything myself. I genuinely believed raila would destroy our country, only for him to be co opted in the government behind our backs. But that’s a negligible issue compared to the pain we are going through because of the way they have disrupted our businesses. Importers are a bitter lot.
Calling you out is part of contribution.
you believed in that Cambridge Analytica propaganda eti Raila will destroy the country. If you were very keen you would have realised that it was a well-coordinated move. mambo ya siasa if you are not being paid kaa mbali. Akina Chamwada and Alai were paid Millions siku hizi their businesses are thriving
You are sheep, if this is your default thinking mode
Ruto is stealing because he has a heavy task ahead that requires money. A revolution must be financed through whatever means. Once he is in power moi family will have to surrender all looted monies,
SMH. we didn’t require Cambridge Analytica to know that is a good for nothing fellow. And some of us have known him, and of him, since 1982.
Unfortunately, Raila and his brigade never did anything to help the situation or negate the notion. In fact, on the contrary, he did things that only the stounchest of supporters agreed with.

Jobless youth waingie mungiki halafu mido class billionaire akitoka kulamba fake jameson yake ni kunyongwa tu.
Upuss, gdp was just rebased in 2013 to enable juliet borrow more than it could service. If gdp in reality was 100bill kra wangepata taxes to repay the debt. The gdp debt percentage is probably 80 percent the way that govt is having a problem servicing its debts

why were the police dispersing his supporters yet they were not interfering ith anyone’s business?
In 2013 Raila used to hold such rallies, including the time he went to US for a months sabbatical and on arrival was received by such crowds. even had that SasaSAba Rally where people did not go to work and nothing happened. His supporters just attended those rallies and went back home without messing with anyone’s property. So why were the Police attacking them for no reason in 2017?
if he was as bad as you guys claim then why is the current regime which you voted for working with him? stop being in denial and admit you fell for akina Alai and Itumbi’s propaganda
I’m willing to bet it’s more than $100 billion since the informal sector is largely unmapped. KRA’s inability to collect taxes doesn’t have any bearing on the size of the economy. If anything only 3 million out of the 20 million adults pay real taxes, and they’ve only started implementing these measures juzi juzi tu, some like an online etr system imetokea last month tu.
