Kenyan real estate iko na jokes

1.3 million dollars for an apartment with squeezed rooms? I thought this GTC was a world class development, kumbe it is just a nonsensical cash grab like all the eyesores mushrooming in that Kileleshwa area. Developers in these parts really don’t understand what luxury means

Developers wako tu sawa, kenyan buyers ndo hawajui luxury ni nini.

the so-called kenyan middle class are blind

True. I see YouTubers showcasing “modern luxury flat roof homes” nashangaa tu. Shit has that flat McDonalds architecture style na ndani inakaa kama showroom ya Aliexpress.

It’s both. I see developers nowadays doing wall to wall structures everywhere and calling that luxury. Juzi I visited some wall to wall residential 4 bedroom apartment in Kile which was going for 200k per month. The only good thing was the view, everything else was mediocre and squeezed. I’m not paying 200k for a view

A hot marketing gimmick in Kenyan real estate is the “the view”, plus you’re assured that you’ll neighbour fellow rich wannabes. But inside those rooms, developers wamekushika makei. Budget yao iliingiana.

Ukweli. These high end apartments are a very hard sell in Kenya. People want to own the house and the land it stands on. I have a friend who tried selling high end apartments huko Mombasa Road. Ikakuwa ngumu, a couple years later they just had to change them to furnished apartment rentals

Kenyan middle class cant be the target of $1.4m apartment property in the middle of westlands. Must be targeting chinese, intl celebrity and middle East money, Monaco style.

Rip off is the name of the game.

Why are you assuming that the Chinese, international celebrities and middle east monies fellows are stupid enough to buy overpriced garbage?

Chinese people in Kenya only own the clothes they wear, a rice cooker, and iron box. Chinese people will never spend any extra coin on luxuries outside China.

What does wall to wall mean?

watu wa corruption money will buy the pent house

A building constructed from wall to wall. No green spaces at all. Older luxury buildings had that combination

but now these Chinese and Somali developers are trying to convince us that wall-to-wall construction can be luxury as well

Pure stupidity. And you’ll find the top building is cheaper than the ones at the bottom

nikiona jamaa amevaa these silly tight and short trousers akili huchoka nashindwa kuchukua kazi yake seriously…

Most likely the demographic he is targeting is clearly his fellow bonobos who wear such things…

I thought mtu ukimaiza highschool ujinga zingine kama hizi dress code za ukalulu mtu hufaa kuwa unaachia huko?..

The view would be a very finicky thing to base a buy decision in kenya at the moment where there are no guarantees your view will not change in ony afew years after you ink the dotted lines…

Poor market research in an ever evolving populace. Siku hizi watu wako na pesa sio wajinga kama kitambo. These are well travelled and exposed individuals who know value for money.

Wanaziita slim fit hao wapumbavu. Lakini in all honesty, city living is an ongoing scam. Sisi ranchers hatunanga hizi mashida.

Must be targeting corrupt government officials. They are the only ones who can buy such crap since corruption money isn’t very discerning
