Kenyan media

I’m watching this interview of Uhunye with France 24 TV and I’m just thinking, why don’t we see this kind of journalism in Kenya? In less than 20 minutes, this guy asked everything important to ask a head of state. Had this been in Kenya, maswali zingekuwa whether the President eats githeri or whether he wears a vest. And it would have taken two straight hours, asking nonsense.

Kenya journalism is dead, buried and became an extinct. Kazi ni kuokota udaku Facebook,Twitter na kurepackage ati ni news.
What did we expect when we employ journalist based on their beauty not by their competence.

Hata exam Kenya ni 2hrs…

Wewe Blackman unaeza jaribu kuuliza african head of state swali direct bila Kumarinate yeye kiasi?.. Na anaeza tuma D-minus wakujie magego zako midnight…

And the current trend of employing comedians as radio presenters. You listen to the BBC radio ama VOA and get a very different taste of radio but huku ni story za ngwati kila asubuhi. But perhaps it’s because the target audience loves mediocrity.

 At least exam mtu ukuwa anang’ang’ana for those two hours.

Kwanza kuna chokosh huitwa Kartelo. Huyu mgaza alihangaisha @uwesmake pale Kayole Kwa wizi. Akaanza kuongea kama Jamaican saa hii ako works radio Jambo.
Kenyan media haina professionalism. They should regulate waseme kama huna papers. Fagia barabara.

 But the only difference between Kartelo and Maina Kageni ni kizungu tu otherwise I’m sure the content is just the same. Radio zote Kwanza asubuhi uongea story za ngwati with fake live calls from estranged lovers. Nothing objective.

Morning radio nimekaa sana bila kusikiza hio upus.

Githeri media kitu wanajua ni kutuletea story za waganga kutoka Tanzania. BTW Tanzabia should arrest githeri media for propagating the notion that wao ni wachawi

Most of those radio presenters wakona papers kwa stations kama capital fm hawana content ya maana. Kazi ni kutweng tu.

Kama ni presenters wako boring ni juu hawana content interesting and is a reflection of their schooling / socialization which wasn’t up to par. Labda shida ni education system, it didn’t go far enough. Alafu kuemploy beauty bila brains… Wololo
When is the last time you had a deep conversation with a Kenyan slay queen

That need to tell that even our leaders don’t take our media seriously.ofcourse he will be invited for an interview where they will ask him questions that have been prepared beforehand a thing that also happens on rare occasions.
Kule nje they adhere to their broadcasting policed ,journalist ata akiuliza maswali sensitive there will be no backlash and if there will be any,the media station will support their own, unlike here where they will distance themselves

Wacheni kelele mingi
Mtulize boli
Lui Otieno anarudi soon

Ask yourselves who owns Kenyan media houses? SMG ni ya nani? NMG? Who are the majority shareholders? Halafu who controls the bulk of advertising revenue that print and digital media rely on? We have brilliant journalists in Kenya and they all end up going to work for international outlets or forming their own companies. Why? Because when you step on a live wire some suits from Thika come looking for you mpaka kwa basement parking.

saa hii comedians , jokers , DJ’s are now presenters… wengine ata hawakuenda ata highschool… issue is that educated guys miss out… afadhali waweke hawa watu as extras not the main anchors… meffi media

Capital FM content yao si ya Hustler vs Dynasty shenanigans, ama patanisho type of nonsense. Hao target market yao ni Karen Housewives and Westlands Odieros/ Expartriates. That station has run like that for more than 20 years profitably, kabla hii ujinga ya akina kartelo na Ghost zikuje

Content ya maana kwako iko Inooro ama Radio Jambo.

Kuna time nilipitia huko nikaskia wakiongea kuhusu wakina Cardi B. I didn’t know this was a quality content to wamama wako Karen?

The best presenters were Renee Ngamau - I even tolerated Maqbul to listen to her. Fareed was good as well - can’t stand the co-anchors he’s been paired up with. Now I organize for my own entertainment in the morning ride.

inooro has a lot of sensible content with no silly comedians for us who are loyal listeners and for me and @Electronics4u we turn to kameme for authentic comedy

Great interview Mr President. I like how he has insisted the BBI is his primary goal then afterwards think of supporting anyone in the coming elections when asked if he will support sugoi
