I wouldn’t wish a stroke on anyone. I also don’t see the link between Ukimwi na stroke.

If this is truly your reasoning, I genuinely feel concerned. It seems the effort and resources invested in your education may not have had the intended impact. How does Stroke and HIV go hand in hand?

Wale wanasema Hiv haiko related na stroke then you clearly have not been physically close to hiv victims
.
People with HIV/AIDS have an increased risk of stroke compared to the general population, primarily due to HIV-related and traditional stroke risk factors. HIV infection can lead to chronic inflammation, immune system dysregulation, and other changes in the body that increase stroke risk. Additionally, individuals with HIV may have a higher likelihood of developing traditional stroke risk factors like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Factors Contributing to Increased Stroke Risk in People with HIV:

  • HIV-related factors:

    • Chronic inflammation: HIV infection triggers chronic inflammation, which can damage blood vessels and increase the risk of stroke, says Aidsmap.
    • Immune dysregulation: HIV infection can disrupt the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to infections and inflammation, further increasing stroke risk, says the National Institutes of Health.
    • Opportunistic infections: HIV can increase the risk of opportunistic infections like Toxoplasma or fungal infections, which can lead to stroke.
    • HIV viremia: Higher levels of HIV in the blood (viremia) have been linked to an increased risk of stroke.
    • Lower CD4+ cell count: A lower CD4+ cell count, a measure of immune system health, is also associated with a higher risk of stroke.
    • Immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS): IRIS can affect the brain and increase the risk of stroke, especially ischemic stroke.
    • Aneurysmal arteriopathy: HIV can cause aneurysms (weakened blood vessel walls), which can lead to stroke.
  • Traditional stroke risk factors:

    • High blood pressure: Elevated blood pressure is a major risk factor for stroke and is more common in people with HIV.
    • High cholesterol: High cholesterol can contribute to plaque buildup in the arteries, increasing the risk of stroke.
    • Diabetes: Diabetes is a significant risk factor for stroke, and people with HIV may be more likely to develop diabetes or have difficulty managing it.
    • Smoking: Smoking is a well-established risk factor for stroke, and it’s more common in some HIV-positive populations.
    • Obesity: Obesity is linked to increased stroke risk and is more prevalent in certain HIV-positive populations.

Types of Stroke:

  • Ischemic stroke:

This type of stroke occurs when an artery supplying blood to the brain is blocked, leading to tissue damage.

  • Hemorrhagic stroke:

This type of stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures and bleeds.

Management and Prevention:

  • Antiretroviral therapy (ART):

ART can help suppress HIV, improve immune function, and reduce the risk of complications, including stroke.

  • Managing traditional risk factors:

Controlling high blood pressure, managing cholesterol, controlling diabetes, and avoiding smoking can help reduce the overall risk of stroke in people with HIV.

  • Early detection and treatment of opportunistic infections:

Prompt diagnosis and treatment of infections can help prevent complications, including stroke.

  • Monitoring for stroke symptoms:

Individuals with HIV should be aware of the signs of stroke and seek prompt medical attention

Getting a stroke at less than 40 years is quite rare unless you live an extremely unhealthy sedentary lifestyle.

Niligundua best health advice ni kuchapa high intensity exercise ya 40 minutes once or twice a week minimum na utakuwa sawa above average, hapo bpm ichape atleast 170 - 180 for 30 minutes.

Walking na hizi jogging na lifting weights ni mzuri but are the equivalent ya disabled people going through therapy, fixation ya gym/lifting weights imekuwa mbovu sana people don’t grasp what health is, imekuwa kazi ni kujenga mwili like a field ploughing bull.

Mimi resting heart rate yangu iko around 42 bpm, I eat clean, minimise stress niko sawa sana. But sikuwa hapo 5 years ago ilichukua effort wazimu.

Walking inakuanga underated sana. That shit works wonders alafu its a natural of keeping fit. Ukijipea time ya kutembea twice a day utakuwa sawa kabisa.

Actually jogging is the best form of exercise, better than even swimming.
