During her late husbands burial, we all expected her to carry on the Luhya traditions as is norm, I was poised to hide in the forest for a couple of days just to see her cleanse herself, only that she refused to do it within the time frame, I understand she later did it under heavy secrecy, and that’s how she broke my heart into many small peaces. I was in love with her. When people have Beyonce or Tylor Swift as icons, Yvonne was my total weakness. I believed that I would inherit her one day, I even named one of my most fertile cows after her, only that she died prematurely. I am happy to let that off my chest, now I can move on.
