The first time I heard of hashish was when Ibrahim Akasha became a wanted man.
He was gunned down in Amsterdam in the year 2000
In 2002, his son Kamaldin was also shot dead in Mombasa.
In 2007, his grand child drowned in a swimming pool during a police raid.
In 2010, his daughter-in-law was found hanging from a rope in their Nyali house.
She was the wife of Baktash, allegedly Akasha’s favourite son and preferred heir. Those in the know say he killed her.
Baktash himuselefu is serving a 25-year jail term in the US for drug trafficking together with his brother Ibrahim, who received 23 years.
Here in Kenya, their relatives are not exactly laying low. These are drug dealers who make millions but still steal small monies from hustlers.

Watu kama hawa wakiiba 7,700 shs, si ni kiburi tu? Yaani they’re just bored, they just want someone to harrass. It’s not that they can’t pay, ni ile ya kukuuliza utadu? Tupeleke mahali unajua!
You’d think a drug dealer would shun this kind of needless attention. Lakini it seems they learnt from the senior Akasha:
Another witness, Khurshid Butt, was a contractor who had renovated the Akasha house in 1994, only to be abducted and beaten by Akasha and his sons when he went to claim the balance owed.
Huyo Akasha ati alikua ana-abduct mpaka assistant police commissioner banae :D:D:D
So hawa watoto inakaa wali-inherit hicho kiburi.
When you see their mother crying you wouldn’t imagine they could harm a fly. These coastal women are masters at enabling and excusing their sons’ criminal behaviours.

Although Akasha was a billionaire, a significant chunk of his wealth is said to have disappeared because even his family didn’t know where it was hidden. Hapo ndio mimi hujiuliza, is this lifestyle worth it? You have your billions, you can live a lavish lifestyle, but you’re always nervous. Yaani any time, some ghaseer could appear and shoot you dead. Ama they just don’t give a fuuck?
Anyway, we haven’t heard the last of the Akashas. They have a habit of making headlines every few years. Click the link below to read more about them. @Akon City II kuja tusome.
