Mzungu apartments are simple and neat.
.
.
Those aren’t beautiful, those are mechanisms, structurally speaking. In terms of architectural style they are orphans because of borrowing from too many movements. I am waiting for any Architect to disagree with my statement.
Hakuna kitu hapa
Maybe we need to plaster and paint our apartments the way msungu does to improve the visual appeal of our estates.
.
that looks ugly. it’s not beatufiul at all
plaster costs money. People build with what is in their vicinity. Plus kenyans are masters of granite building. In Europe, there is a movement to build with granite, but they dont have the skills and know how needed to do it. We should be proud of our cheap, economical building methods.
One big advantage of granite construction is that the stones can be recycled to infinity. Once a building is brough down, you can collect those stones, and build another building with ease. It is also faster, and less technical to build with granite
Kila kitu ni ya kuletewa…
they have the basics right, nothing complex just proper planning and paved walkways make all the difference
Hapa ni wapi
Its not good to compare people who have looted resources for centuries to the people they looted said resources from.

Mwafrika’s two best friends are disorderliness and vumbi. Anus to anus.
I am comparing buildings in an ordinary estate in europe with an ordinary estate in kenya.
I think you meant to ask why we do not conform to building standards and regulation, zoning laws and such. In terms of architecture and design, there is nothing special about those apartments. Weka vinbanda tano hapo nje and do not collect garbage for a few months plus dusty roads and then come we talk.
