While Kenya Struggles with Youth Unemployment, Tanzania Keeps Announcing New Job Opportunities - from Diamonds Bijoux Hotel, a prestigious five-star establishment in Zanzibar

While neighboring Kenya continues to grapple with widespread youth unemployment, protests, and rising frustrations that have led to frequent street demonstrations and destruction of property, Tanzania is steadily moving in the opposite direction—creating and announcing new job opportunities almost every week.

One of the latest opportunities comes from Diamonds Bijoux Hotel, a prestigious five-star establishment in Zanzibar. The hotel has officially announced multiple job openings for experienced hoteliers, inviting qualified professionals to apply either through direct interviews or by submitting their CVs.

The recruitment process has been carefully scheduled to give applicants from both mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar an equal chance:

  • Dar es Salaam: Interviews will take place at Serena Hotel on August 23, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Zanzibar: Interviews will be held at Michenzani Mall (5th Floor) on August 30 and 31, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

For those unable to attend in person, applicants are required to send their CVs via email to [email protected], including a passport-size photograph and specifying the position they are applying for in the subject line. The deadline for applications is September 15, 2025.

This announcement is yet another indicator that Tanzania’s tourism and hospitality sector continues to thrive, driven by sustained government investment in infrastructure, international marketing, and a stable business environment. While the region faces challenges, Tanzania’s growing economy and job market demonstrate resilience and commitment to empowering its youth through employment opportunities.

For Kenyan youth frustrated by job scarcity, Tanzania’s example highlights the importance of structured economic policies, investment in tourism, and creating an enabling environment for businesses to generate employment.
