Which is your favorite Kenya town which represents the future and why? For me I go with Nakuru. Nakuru is a town with a cosmopolitan feel and is rapidly expanding and industrializing quickly. It has a good weather and good sites for Tourism. Its infrastructure is also improving more so with the now planned Nairobi Nakuru dual carriageway. I believe Nakuru very soon will be (is already) the 2nd largest GDP contributor in Kenya after Nairobi. Nakuru will also certainly attract major local, regional and global conglomerates to set their bases there and even some may decide to put their headwaters in Nakuru. With the nearby geothermal power and its close proximity to agriculturally rich lands starting from Nakuru County where it is located and other counties such as Bomet, Kericho and Narok, I believe the future of Nakuru City is bright. Besides Nakuru city is one of the well planned towns in kenya
From the word go Nakuru was the place to be. Most of the regional agricultural headquarters were based in there.
I’m not sure, if Moi stole the thunder from it by propping up Eldoret town or not. But, 90’s saw Nakuru heading south. How, is water supply in Nakuru?
Nakuru is cheap, nowhere near Mombasa, Kisumu or Eldoret. Heck, even Naivasha is more expensive than Nakuru.
I agree about the planning,
Nakuru county is big in terms of GDP, but the town is another story. For along time it was a sleepy town, I can tell you earning a k in Nakuru kama mwana biashara is a tall order
