A small island town in Malaysia looks much more developed than our very own Mombasa. What could we be doing wrong?

Kenya is still a poor country…
Before 2013 when counties become a thing, the coastal region used to contribute close to 60% of the GDP. All this was systematically reversed by the following ways:
- Infra investment meant for coast to boost tourism was diverted to somewhere else. We know where.
- Cargo services slowly relocated to Naivasha.
- Media misinformation that Nairobi and Kiambu were the greatest contributors to GDP.
- The natural behaviour by mijikendas to being a jealous people who would rather they all suffer than see some of their own make it. This meant very little resistance from the coastal elite when points 1 and 2 was happening.

There are lots of magnificent beach front mansions and hotels. Flats zajengwa pia Kwa fujo.
