What is it with Nakuru - Nairobi highway?

I do think there are specific geographic challenges of the Nakuru highway that exacerbate human error, compared to other equally busy corridors like the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

Add to that, I think that there is also a major recalibration of driver behavior once they go past Uthiru.

Kuna ubonobo huingia drivers wakiingia hio highway, its very wierd.

You can’t even enjoy a relaxing drive on that road.

Thats the most dangerous rd in kenya…hiyo stretch imemaliza wengi sana. I’ve had to hit the shoulder several times to pave way to dimwit drivers…usiku hata ndio worse

You expect bonobos who were walking naked just the other day and cattle rustlers to immediately transition into civilised road users?

Ile konokono inaitwa @Banyamulenge is still walking butt-naked to this day swinging his leathery foreskin. If you have a herd of his type residing in one corner you can imagine the damage.

It’s because Nairobi drivers are used to start-stop traffic in the city, and a trip to Nakuru requires the use of high speed driving skills.

Then there’s also the alcohol factor.

Hii barabara huwa siipendi kabisa. Kwanza Kinungi na hapo Delamere careless overtaking. Kwanza tunafunga on Friday for festive season mpaka January sijui itakuaje hiyo siku kwanza saa hii with the festive rush bad time to travel.

Yeah expect at some point watu walale kwa hiyo highway for 24hrs due to a grid lock with stupid drivers overlapping

Nairobi - Nakuru has more traffic, its a very busy road add in the stalled trucks and the show off ya magari kubwa, its always a recipe for disaster, personally I prefer driving usiku on that road if not na nikiwa na time I use the longer flyover - engineer route, otherwise ile showoff iko on that road is on a different level

They said dualling and adding a physical barrier seperation at Sachangwan would help reduce accidents. Well, the head-on collisions were reduced, but the remaining forms of Bonobo accidents that could take place have been in the rise ever since, not sure why that stretch causes brake fade both ways, gravity maybe? I don’t know why, but slowing the fcuk down is the only Einstein solution here.
