Wikipedia is the most peer reviewed sources out there… your line is used by Kenyan lecturers mainly because of their ignorance… Wikipedia is actually more reliable than most “peer reviewed” sources

I used Wikipedia for my degree and postgraduate studies but instead of referencing it directly I would just tag the references of the Wikipedia article which are mostly very legit. Worked for me vizuri sana
