The scar is as a result of a life-threatening accident he had as a kid.
As he narrates it, a friend of his was cutting off a branch when the panga slipped and cut his forehead.
He went on to play with fellow friends as if nothing happened, when it was noticed his skull was visible.

Wouldn’t wish that kind of accident on any kid, you can google to find that narration.

Its an ugly scar, sad that is how he got it, not that there is a good way to get a scar
