In all these, what approach is best suited for Kenya economic growth, Catch up growth or cutting edge ?
Lastly, why was there panic when America withdrawal it’s technologies from ZTE ?

The approaches are;

  1. First of all eliminate corruption!..No need to say more. Chukueni akina Anne Ngirita and shoot their heads off in public.

  2. Improve management of the public sector. Government is too bloated and inefficient.

  3. Attract investors to put up labour intensive industries to reduce mass employment and kick start industrialization. South Korea, Hong Kong na kadhalika started off with garment industry in the 1970s na sasa angalia wako wapi?? As people grow wealthier, value chain will go up, pole pole we shall start assembling cell phones, TVs, etc

  4. Investment in infrastructure -no need to say more.

  5. Investment in social services (i.e quality healthcare & education) - so that parents wafanye “kazi ya mkono” but the children become the next innovators in blockchain na AI.

To be honest, all these things are common sense.

This is the path that Europe followed in the 18th Century, USA ikafuata, alafu Japan, alafu the rest of Asia. The rest is history.

Lakini when people of power and influence ni the likes of William Ruto, Mike Sonko, Anne Ngirita na wengineo, you have a very, very long way to go!!!
