hello guys. i have a windows 8 laptop that all the usb ports stopped working suddenly…, i can charge my phone through the usb ports but my flash drive, mouse, gaming pad , etc (all input devices through the usb dont work). please help. i have googled but not found any help hope i find assistance here…

Check your last installed program ,hardware

Try uninstalling the drivers then reinstall. If you have a Linux live disk you could try booting into it. If it works without problem in Linux then you know it’s a driver problem.
EDIT: When I say reinstall I mean the drivers not the OS. Un-install the drivers and reboot.

Only way I can think of is to get them from another computer (same model as yours) using software like Double Driver.
You could try downloading USB drivers from your manufacturers website. I had an issue where external HDD’s would disconnect when transferring huge files. I downloaded USB drivers from HP and it got fixed.
If all fails you could restore it to an earlier date where everything worked OK.

If it’s the latest computer generation of computer, OS ndio shida. Upgrade to windows 10. I had a similar case and it worked after upgrading
