Congress wonât sign off but they donât need it anyway because Stephen Miller, Steve Bannon and Russell Vought implemented the Unitary Executive theory as part of their Project 2025 for Trump 2.0. Basically increasing executive power to King levels ⌠Hence the recent âNo Kingsâ protests. As it stands Trump is the most powerful American president since the 1800s.
MAGA is also splintering in real time: cost of living, Epstein files, doctored jobs reports, who takes over after Trump (JD or Marco), cost of winning the AI race etc. Trump also ran on ending wars so a theatre in Venezuela is distasteful for most MAGA guys.
It will be a strain but they still can. And a heavy handed PR operation to justify the war.

Maduro is a dead man walking, the amount of suffering in Venezuela is unbearable for the common man and many have been escaping to go abroad. They are in the same situation as Kenyan where a few individuals and the military control the majority wealth. Venezuela has the largest reserves of oil in the world but have outdated infrastructure and equipment to produce enough barrels ; they barely produce 10% of what they can and all this gets eaten by politicians and military âŚsounds familiar ? Same thing in Nigeria.
Maduro will be betrayed by the same military who will be given deals to maintain their wealth , update their drilling and extraction capabilities and a puppet will be installed.
