Upgrading the Nissan B12 with the SR20 engine. Elders opinion is highly needed

Niko na body poa ya B12, rust-free and never been in an accident. It has the GA15 DE engine, but I want to upgrade to the more powerful SR20 engine.

The question is, do you need gearbox mods as well? Ama the native 5 speed gearbox is plug and play with the SR 20?

I have seen guys fit the B15 engine, the QG15 DE, onto the B12 without doing any mods on the gearbox, I was wondering if its the same with the SR20.

You will have to modify the gear to. I worked on a similar project kitambo with a mech friend. We installed the B14 engine on B12. Quite straight forward and at first we retained the 4-speed gearbox but the discordance was evident and we adjusted. So for a completely new engine design with different power, torque configuration you may have to mate it to a gearbox that can handle it smoothly.
