Ungekuwa Economic Advisor Wa Ruto Ungempa Ideas Gani To Turn Around Kenya As Of Now

Since the Honeymoon is already over what measures can GoK implement to redeem Kenya’s ruined economy in 2.5 years?
Here is my take

  • Dismiss entire Cabinet and reconstitute it with people from the banking sector.
  • Create 2 year tax holiday for new companies
  • Lower energy costs by drawing up new contracts with Independent Power Producers. This will suppur manufacturing which will in turn create more jobs there by widening the Tax base.

At this stage there is absolutely nothing Ruto can do to turn around the shit we are in.

The best thing he can do is to hand over leadership peacefully and leave the country forever.

Thats how bad things are

Hire more non-kalenjins who are naturally risk averse and have no real expertise outside Agriculture and Corruption.

I’m Hebrew they say, îngî thua ndongoria, itikinyagîra nyeki, when the lead ram limpso, the flock never gets to the juicy grass. No matter the smarts you have as long as the leader is the problem there will be no turn around.. A great leader can still work with the same cabinet and turn things around

The country needs entrepreneurs, visionary people with new ideas and ready to try them, people who can transform our agriculture, manufacturing, trade etc not bankers. FYI many of the world billionaires were turned down by bankers when they came up with revolutionary ideas to start their businesses, and if they had believed or relied on the bankers they would be poor today and the world would have been poorer and lacking in innovation.

True, he is the problem and nothing will change because he thinks he knows it all and never takes any advice. Also he is eating alone at the top by using his position to commit the country to corrupt deals that will bleed the country for decades to come.

Stop stealing or better still, he should just resign, I don’t think there is any advice that can make up for his gross incompetence

Quick wins

  1. Infrastructure ..Dual the road from Mombasa all the way to malaba, have talks with Uganda to do the same into central Africa , have all those valuable commodities pass through kenya, revive lappset , konza city

  2. Subsidise the agricultural sector, cheap fertilizer, cheap high quality seeds, waive taxes to import modern farming equipment in high numbers, have programmes where verified farmers can be given free farming equipment. Use diplomacy to get markets for produce

  3. Electricity, work on getting electricity to be extremely cheap, reliable, build more dams/power plants, work on distribution network eliminate corrupt brokers selling power at exorbitant prices, industries will set up organically when factors of production are cheap

  4. Reduce Corruption.. if EACC and the auditor general are backed up by the executive where the police can harass corrupt officials the same way they are being used to harass political opponents now.

  5. Work on urbanisation, towns and cities should have proper water, covered drainage, sewerage, sidewalk pavement and road systems.. standards should be set for contractors on how a proper sidewalk, roadway with signage..etc should be built, mediocre construction should be flagged for corruption and prosecution.

  6. Things that the private sector can do should be left to the private sector, govt should focus on reducing cost of doing business.eg instead of building houses directly we should work on how to get cement and steel to be cheaper

El Chapo is past redemption..

I would not waste any time advising him on anything at all..

He just needs to go home..:fire:

Too late! The die is cast already…all the dysfunction you’re seeing are signs of the end times. Dunia inaisha so prepare your heart to meet the Lord Jesus. There’s literally nothing that can be done to reverse the apocalypse.

  • Bankers will capture the state. Bankers and military are the biggest threats to a democracy and yet so crucial.

Hapa Keynesian talkers wanaeza saidia.

  • Tax holiday = tax evasion. Gaidis will run a company for 1 year 11 months

  • Power production I’ll agree with you. Shida Sugoi ni aka Arror aka Kimwarer aka building 100 dams. So power will be left untapped. Import cheap from Uganda or Ethiopia maybe .

Just go first , we will figure the rest later.
