North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump have touched down in Singapore, setting the stage for a landmark summit aimed at averting a nuclear crisis.
Their highly anticipated meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, will mark the first time a North Korean leader has met a sitting US president.
Trump arrived at Singapore’s Paya Lebar Airbase at 12:30 GMT on Sunday, a few hours after Kim touched down at Changi Airport in an Air China 747 - almost 48 hours before the summit at the city-state’s Capella Hotel.
Kim planes was escorted by Chinese jets all the way. His detail is tight. The weird thing I saw on twitter is that they fear even the handshakes because of targeted bio germ laced on the hand.
the way i see it either trump bends over and takeS it up the ass ama he acts like a baby and screws up what all other american presidents have failed… either way ni lose lose for US…
The truth is, this will be just a PR gimmick, Kim Jong knows that the moment he discards those nukes and the project, he will be shafted from Pyongyang to Timbuktu. All he needs is for China to soften their stance towards him, and its back to business…
China already does a lot of business and trade with North Korea. Most of it is unofficial through their common border. Any easing of sanctions greatly benefits both of them immensely. It increases the volume and type of goods they can freely trade with. China also seeks to link up both infrastructure and contracts to modernise them. North Korea contrary to what the west media says has a very advance ICT and engineering industry. They had to in order to enable self preservation and self reliance to beat sanctions. They build their own nuclear power plants, defense industry and utilities. China just wants to twik those industry to improve efficiency. Trump just wants a photo-op to have ended the Korean war which ironically was already agreed with South Korea in their direct North/South summits months ago. usa just wants the announcement and limelight to come from them. Nuclear weapons will not be decommissioned, Iraq, Libya all suffered invasion as after they did. However nuclear tests will end in North Korea.
