My friend is planning to buy a tractor, mostly for use in the rural areas for ploughing and haulage of stuff like sand and stones during off planting seasons. Which model is the best? between Massey Ferguson or New Holland? And is it advisable to import a second had or just buy a refurbished one sold by the likes of CMC/FMD? The budget is 1.5m to 1.8m.

John Deere if you want a tractor lasting 30+ good years. MF is no longer what it used to be. Kwanza after these Pakistan MF Milat, max 2 yrs unaweka kwa made. Spares can cost 1/3 of its cost. JD ni nzito kuliko doshi…Spares last a lifetime’ doesn’t break down easily.
My neighbours have a New Holland TT75, IT IS THE BEST!!! And it’s locally assembled, no issues so far after 2 years of ownership. We are considering getting one too, siku hizi ni muhimu.
