When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way, he repented of the evil that he had threatened to do to them; he did not carry it out. - Jonah 3:10
The God we serve is a just and holy God who loves to extend grace. With his death, Jesus covered all our sins and we who trust in him are saved through grace alone. This is not a license to be cavalier about any sin in our lives by saying, βI will repent later, Jesus will forgive meβ. God is not obligated to any man to show him mercy when he sins. Nadab, Abihu, Uzzah, Anaanias and Sapphira, all testify that God is holy above all and he does not treat any sin lightly. No matter what our sins, if we come to the Lord in true repentance, he is quick to have compassion on us. We may still have to bear the consequences for our rebellion β the Lord told Moses he would die because of his disobedience (Num 20:12) β but praise God, we are forgiven.
have a blessed Wednesday.
