The residence of Gatundu south have been in coffee and tea farming for long, some even before independence. They have been earning this money for the longest time.
Unazaliwa unapata Babu yuko poa ki dough, these thing extends to the larger part of central Kenya, and lot’s of guys from central Shagz, Upper eastern and R.V.
Most of this guys, immediately they get their first jobs, they immediately start investing.
There is no way of telling if that is inherited. We have to agree that a good number of Okuyu landlords in the city of Nairobi, bought their land through various land buying companies immediately we got our independence.
These parcels of land have appreciated astronomically, adding worth to these guys.
I crisscrossed that place last Thursday and I noted most of those plots are owned by land buying companies and developer.they sell to any willing buyer .
I’ve never been to Gatundu. But I have a friend who hails from that place. It is a 45 minutes drive to Nairobi CBD on a day with no traffic. It cannot be compared to Kinango or Nyadapal.
I know of a guy who after graduating from college, in early 2000’s, was given two plots by the Grandfather, one in Githurai and another one in Kayole.
The Grandpa bought them thru land buying company.
Proximity to Nairobi makes Gatundu a good investment destination for monied people who cannot afford land within 30 KM radius of Nairobi. If I come from Nyeri, I’m tired of renting and I can’t afford land at Kahawa Sukari or Membley, why not settle in Gatundu? It’s only 20-30 minutes away from the two places mentioned.
did you guys see that school with falling walls in nyeri? @ kanini kega’s constituency. It is very un informed to think there is no marginalisation in cendro. hii mambo yote ni rich-poor gap
