King Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes on his last days on earth. After falling from Grace due to the idol worship introduced to him by his foreign wives, he now faced his own mortality. Despite all that he had done and acquired, he quickly realized that “all is vanity and vexations.”
Matthew 22:36-38.
36 Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
His life was cut short prematurely and there’s doubt whether he made it to heaven. Perhaps God spared him on account of the covenant he had with Abraham. The same way Rachel wife to Jacob, had her life cut short for idol worship. If there’s one thing which God will NEVER tolerate is an idol worshipper. Idols can be graven images or anything which you hold so dearly. Be it money, cars, houses, titles, your children, spouse, worldly pursuits.
God loved Job because even after he was stripped of everything, he tore off his clothes, went on his knees and beat his heart saying, “naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked shall I return. Glory be to the name of the LORD!” Satan doesn’t know how to respond to that. He thinks we worship God because of the benefits He gives us. He can’t understand it.
That’s the heart which God is looking for, where worship is constant!
I have a question. This people according to the bible they used to have a one on one conversation with God and they still disobied him. Sasa sisi bila all that, can we follow what the bible says???
