Better list

Kwani hawatambui adebayo

They have to make it a 21st Century affair juu wanajua the bar is so low. How about greatest overall. Without these names, that list is bogus:

Rigobert Song

George Weah

Nwankwo Kanu

Patrick Mboma

El Hadji Diouf

ALL players named Camara

Celestin Babayaro

Papa Bouba Diop (RIP)

Rashidi Yekini

Roger Milla

Daniel Amokachi

Mustapha Hadji

Overall money ruined football. Even though African players are good it’s inflated by marketing after they’re gobbled up by top leagues. Plus their style is all the same. Kitambo almost EVERY country had their unique style and very entertaining to watch. Even the great Brazilian Samba football was diluted by Europeans.

Then there’s match fixing.

And for the past two decades Africans haven’t had a serious match with stakes so high that the ENTIRE continent everyone is on the edge of their seats … almost shitting their pants. Last one was Senegal v. Turkey in 2002 World Cup. Ghana loss in 2010 World Cup came close but Senegal v. Turkey iliuma watu sana. Niliwatch kwa debe pale Kibra and I remember seeing grown men around me were in tears buana.

Now that FIFA has gone full MAGA to placate Trump acha tuone World Cup kutaendaje.

Hossam (Hassan) Hassan — the Egyptian football legend and all-time leading scorer for the Egypt national team — retired from international football in 2006. His last appearances for Egypt came at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, where at age 39 he played and captained the team to the continental title, after a long international career that began in 1985 and lasted until 2006.

Sawa.
But mbona Egyptians, Tunisians and Moroccan footballers dissociate themselves and act like they’re not part of Africa

Geographically they are in Africa but ideologically and politically they assume themselves to be Arabs.

No one wants to be associated with black africans.
The black african image is normally associated with poverty, backwardness, incompetence, witchcraft, disease and hopelessness and very few want to be associated with such an idenity.
