On June 10, 2025, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism responsible for Conservation, Commissioner of Police (CP) Benedict Wakulyamba, officially presided over the graduation ceremony of 238 new Officers and Rangers of the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA). The ceremony was held at the Conservation Force Training Centre in Mlele, Katavi Region.

CP Wakulyamba emphasized the importance of translating the knowledge acquired into action, stating,

“These trainings are only meaningful if they are implemented practically. Collaboration and commitment at work will enhance service delivery and reinforce the values instilled during training.”

He reminded the graduates that the acquired skills must drive accountability, discipline, and professional ethics.

“You must be role models wherever you serve and utilize your training to bring positive transformation within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism,” he added.

He also commended the graduates and urged them to let the knowledge and skills they have gained serve as pillars of integrity, trustworthiness, and humility in carrying out their daily responsibilities for the benefit of all Tanzanians.

Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner and Southern Zone Commander, Godwell Meing’ataki, also congratulated the instructors and everyone involved in the success of the training.

“Your dedication has produced passionate, motivated, and patriotic officers ready to serve the nation with integrity.”

Meanwhile, First Class Conservation Officer Bernadeta Aloyce, the Head of the Mlele Training Centre, explained:

“We provided both theoretical and practical training on military laws, leadership, daily task management, and key conservation and tourism principles. Our aim was to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties professionally.”

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials including CP Benedict Wakulyamba, Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner Fidelis Kapalata (Coordinator of the Conservation Force, Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism), TANAPA management, and other high-ranking leaders.
