Tanzania has made history by qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) knockout stage following a hard-fought 1–1 draw against Tunisia in the final Group C match.

Taifa Stars had needed a win to guarantee a place in the last 16, but the draw proved sufficient as the East African nation advanced as one of the tournament’s four best third-placed teams.

Tanzania will now face hosts Morocco in the next stage of the competition.
