Tanzania’s Taifa Stars kicked off their CECAFA 3-Nations Tournament campaign with a solid 2-1 victory over Senegal, sending a strong message ahead of the upcoming CHAN 2024 finals.
The match, played as part of the regional mini-tournament involving three national teams, showcased Tanzania’s growing squad depth and tactical maturity. Sopu opened the scoring with a brilliant strike, followed by Baka’s decisive second goal that sealed the win.
Senegal managed to pull one back, but it wasn’t enough to deny the hosts a morale-boosting win.
