Susan Kihika Running Nakuru County From Bidenista Via Remote

Nakuru Governor Sudana Kihika has sacked her speechwriter for making an error in her Madaraka Day speech.

While delivering her speech on Sunday, June 1, a hilarious moment erupted as the governor was outlining the ongoing projects in the county after she mistakenly referred to the Wanyororo Vocational Training Centre in Kabatini as the now-famous ‘Wamunyoro’, the home of the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Seconds after the incident, Kihika publicly declared that her speechwriter had been sacked.

“Construction of two lecture rooms at Wamunyoro – no, sorry, Wanyororo – vocational centre in Kabatini. And by the way, my writer of this speech is fired,” she said.

Kihika went ahead and further assured the crowd that she would remain at President William Ruto’s side at all times.

“Don’t worry. I will always be at Ruto’s side,” she said as she assured the excited crowd.

Kihika, who is a vocal critic of the former DP, who is famously known to hold most of his meetings at his Wamunyoro home in Nyeri County, has never shied away from publicly displaying her opposition spirit towards the former DP’s political agendas and statements.

Only last month, Kihika blasted the former DP and called his remarks “extremely reckless” after he threatened that if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) did not conduct the election with diligence, there would be post-election brutality in the upcoming general polls that would be worse than the one experienced in 2007/2008.

Kihika claimed that Gachagua should stop projecting his impeachment, which happened last year in October 2024, as a national crisis.

“This is extremely reckless. Coming from a region that bore the brunt of the chaos, I find it unacceptable. Gachagua must stop imagining his political battles are national emergencies,” Kihika said.

“There comes a time when a country is bigger than an individual. Gachagua, that time is now. We will not bleed again — not for any politician,” she added.

Echoing Kihika’s sentiments, the Saboti Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi, stressed that politicians should refrain from inciting people.

Then she must be having funny things down there, 🤔

Vehicles Torched After Chaos Erupt During Governor Kihika’s Visit to Flooded Kihoko Estate in Naivasha

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika was on Thursday evening forced to flee to safety after her event in Kihoto, Naivasha, was reportedly invaded and disrupted by suspected goons.

Kihika had been touring Kihoto Estate in Naivasha Town, an area severely affected by floods caused by rising Lake Naivasha levels, when chaos erupted.

During her visit, she inspected the area with other senior county officials before addressing the residents. Residents from other wards also attended the event.

While delivering her speech, the governor pledged to facilitate the transportation of people back to their respective homes and promised to give each resident a specific amount towards the fare.

However, as soon as she had finished her speech, chaos erupted after a group of youths began attacking people in an attempt to reach the Governor, who was quickly shielded by her bodyguards.

During the incident, two vehicles on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, a personal car and a trailer, were set ablaze, as the Governor fled to safety.

Attempts by police officers to intervene proved futile, with gunshots fired by the police in a bid to disperse the agitated crowd. The suspected goons also stoned the governor’s vehicles.

Meanwhile, Kihika, in her speech, just moments before the chaos had promised to bring in more tippers to assist in evacuating and transporting affected families to safer shelters.

Additionally, she announced the deployment of more lorries and boats to rescue residents whose homes have been submerged. So far, 2000 people have been successfully evacuated.

To enhance coordination, Governor Kihika announced the formation of a committee comprising members from the County Government, NGAO officers, and the clergy.

“This committee will oversee evacuation, transportation, shelter provision, and food distribution to the affected families. I have appealed to churches and schools to open their doors to displaced residents,” she said.

“I also urged local firms operating in the area to offer assistance, and we welcome support from other companies and corporate partners. Furthermore, I appealed to landlords in nearby estates not to increase rent for affected families,” she added.
