Simbakubwa discovered in Kenya

The skeleton that is 22-million-years-old, a [SIZE=7]Carnivorous Lion[/SIZE], has been found in Kenya and named Simbakubwa. The skull was excavated almost 40 years ago at Meswa Bridge and remained undetected at the national museum.

The Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology, reports that the powerful predator is the oldest known member in a group of extinct mammals called hyaenodonts, so named due to their dental resemblance to hyenas, even though the groups are also unrelated.
