The same case applies to marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge. He is paid peanuts for his achievements. If Eliud was from Europe or the US he would be in the same league as Tiger Woods

Who are Eliud’s advisors and lawyers? Hope he went for world class junguu team, like the Jorge Mendez of football. And not mtu wetu
Kipchoge is doing good for himself.
How do you compare running with a sport like Golf, Football, tennis?
Sports that make lots of money via crowds or tv deals, also pay well
@Ndindu imeandikw vizuri mshindi atapata $ 50,000.
Pesa iko from sponsors etc.
Marathon haina pesa kama other sports
Same case with our coffee. Export it for $1/Kg reimport them for $100/Kg as powder. WILL FOREVER BE SHORTCHANGED BECAUSE YOU ARE OKAY WITH IT
no one is short hanging us. mkuliwa wa kahawa mahali yyote duniani akiuza unprocessed coffee, itanunuliwa kama ii ya kenya.
powder uuzwa $100. Kahawa raw uuzwa @$1
nani amezuia mkenya kutengeza io powder, na auze ile bei anataka?
They already knew who the winner will be. An African. If it was golf, they know It would be An American, Tiger Woods and the prize money would have been set to an American standard. Kenya’s standard ni 50K USD.
we are all business people here, and every elder is profit conscious.
BULLSHIT.
HE IS STILL GROSSLY UNDERPAID, HATA GM WAUZE PICKUPS NGAPI.
Ako chini sana as a Brand. Compare Jordan and Kipchoge as Brands then come back with a report. Pia yeye hana akili, he needs to employ good managers and have good online presence.
so who makes a brand more valuable? Nike as a brand imewachukua miaka mingi sana kufika mahali wako.
Nike ukibuy products zao utaona value, haitakuwa eti ii ni Nike unafaa ubuy vitu zao pesa mingi, hapana, kila product itakuwa worth ile pesa wanauza.
Ile elfu kumi mnalipa kanju hakuna value mnapata, heri Kipchoge.
Do you think he needs all that money…Ako tu sawa.
Stand and Kencom and ask 10 people who Tiger woods is. Then stand at New York Times Square and ask 10 people who Eliud Kipchoge is. Or stand at Barclays Bank in Abuja, Nigeria and ask how many know Eliud vs Tiger. There’s a huge difference in the two brands. Although golf is a small sport, marathon is a sport 10 times smaller. Then Tiger woods is a much larger figure than the game of golf. People tune in and try to play golf every weekend that he plays. And many play golf due to Tiger. How many run marathon because of Eliud Kipchoge. Also, there’s heavy marketing around Tiger uko America. How much marketing do we have for Eliud in Kenya or Africa???
Nigga is still underpaid, no matter how you want to spin it
Agree . Once Kipchoge started making records he should have hired some serious PR team to negotiate crazy appearances fees and a shoe deal with Nike, Puma , Adidas or Under Armour. He should have paid a high powered sports agent and right now he would have a 10 year shoe deal worth like 10 millions dollars. His appearance fee would have been like a million dollars per race and his INEOS race would netted him atleast 100 million plus Pay Per View fees.
Unfortunately Kipchoge has a shitty business development team and he could have soared instead of flying .
That is what I have been trying to tell these cows. Hiyo INEOS peke yake ilifaa kumlea millions of USD from Motor companies, shoe firms, what not, but nigger still has local mentality, it has never hit him that he is a global sportsman
Athletic meets do not pay as much as other sports. Even people who run track and field give the same complaints. Marathon is even smaller than those short distance races in track and field.
Those marathons are hardly televised. Even in Olympics, they show everything else and very little marathon. That’s central to why advertisers do not have a lot of presence, at least compared to other sports.
Idiot! Shida ya Africans ni gani lakini. Instead of creating an environment for local conglomerates to grow and thrive so they can then sponsor your athletes, mnalia why American companies aren’t giving your sportsmen deals worth millions of dollars.
Look at the world! Most athletes are signed into long-term deals by the companies in their home countries. Yuki Tsunoda is in formula 1 because Honda bought his way into RB. Sergio Perez is in formula 1 because Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim sponsors him via his companies. Tiger Woods is a brand because of his longstanding Nike deal. Steph Curry is a brand because he has the full support of Under Armor etc etc etc. These are American companies that constantly choose their stars (of course some will sponsor others but this is usually the main criterion).
My point is that most big name brands prefer working with their stars. It’s called nationalism - something Africans are yet to understand about how the world works. The same INEOS that has given Kipchoge peanuts is the same company paying millions of dollars every year towards Lewis Hamilton’s salary.
Your Safaricoms and your Equitys are the ones who should be giving these type of deals to your stars!! GOK should make it easier for new companies in manufacturing to spring up so that even bigger companies can emerge from the country and in turn those companies give back to the nation by giving out these big sponsorships to your super-stars. Unfortunately, Africans have no sense of urgency and would rather complain that foreign companies are not sponsoring your athletes
. You eat corruption for dinner and narcissism for breakfast. Fools!
