Salaries

The median American worker earns $3,800 per month after taxes. That’s roughly Ksh 500,000 per month. If you adjust for purchasing power, anyone in Kenya earning Ksh 500,000 or more monthly is a “birrionea”. If that person went to America with his income, his standard of living would probably fall sharply because things would cost more there. Sidhani mtu wa $3,800 per month anaweza afford hata mboch huko mayolo, some of the things we take for granted.

But its easier to make that money there than it is to make 100k in africa and asia. Anyone earning 500k legitimately in africa can make it anywhere in the world, huyo ni birionea ata akienda monaco.
Meanwhile @applebee100 and most returnees hawezi tengeneza 50k kwa vumbi

If you earn 500k net in Kenya, you are doing better than the average white person.

Auto payment =400
Insurance =200
Baby sitting =$800 (unless subsidized)
Garbage =$60

A man making 500k in Kenya would have to be making $7000 nett to maintain the same lifestyle huko Yunarres.

Rent huko hata studio apartment haitaki mchezo ni an equivalent of 120k pesa taslimu huku kwetu, na kujenga pia sio rahisi. Kenya we are lucky. Na pia kufanya side hustles sio rahisi..

@applebee100 kuja hivi utuvako.. na tunajua uko kwa nyumba ya wazee. Keja hauna banae..

If you’re skilled enough to make 500k in Kenya, the equivalent job pays $1M - $5M a year MINIMUM Trumpistan. That’s an MD level pay pale kwa my former employee. Private chauffeur, expenses paid, penthouse in Chelsea, personal chef, kids in private school, live-in nanny etc.

Bonobos clearly don’t understand the life I’m talking about. You ain’t seen nothing and your idea of America is from your GreenCard winning friends who have to clean toilets. It’s the only life you know. Huge lack of exposure. Not my problem.

Hata hio 40 dallaz rent ler month ni nyingi. Ukiwa mjanja unaweza ishi free.
How you ask?
Lets say unafanya kwa warehouse hardware factory ya mwindi or mchinku pahali unamshow niaje badala ya kuandika wochi or sweeper…si utengee ka kona uniwachie base ya kuishi and voila…you have yourselefu free accomodation.
Halafu kwa hile doo ange hire cleaners and or wochi half of it anakuongeza kwa salo. Halafu si premises pia ina cctv…mwindi anafurahia hio arrangement kabisa.
Thats whats happening to kenyan youth today.
Very sad. Ive met a few who live in factory premises under this arrangement. Young graduate kids.

Simiyu…the anger is real. Ngoja utaona.

Probably more. Kumbuka huku you can get a 4 bedroom+DSQ townhouse in a gated estate less than 30km from Nairobi CBD for just 50k-60k inclusive of service charge. Utakuwa na mboch pia etc. Sidhani mtu ako majuu atakuwa na hizo luxuries with his $3,800 per month. Hata na $7k he would have to be a bachelor to enjoy the same lifestyle as the family guy earning 500k net in Kenya.

Did you say muhindi akuongezee saloo :green_emoji:
