I have been experiencing slow safaricom internet speeds between 8pm and 11pm. Is it only me experiencing ama kuna victims wengne…ama ni vile natumia mwitu?
Whats the reason behind this then? Si umake me understand?

Exact thing I complained of about two months back. And no, I don’t buy that traffic nonsense.
8-11 its when all safcom data centres do their server back up.they consume most of the traffic…thats what I was told.
Have you tried 4G? Amazing! Only thing that’s hasn’t been implemented is voice over LTE so whenever you receive or dial a call the phone switches to 3G. This implies 4G is a data only network.
one can’t try what they don’t have where they are… i raised the issue of the fluctuations with them and some giggly customer care lady told me it’s because i live near a college where traffic peaks early evening and they can do zilch about it…
my choices- move the government technical institute to chalbi or
i sell my home
i bought a flybox from the other network and although i wouldn’t describe the speeds as “amazing”, at least i don’t have to adopt nightrunner hours due to poor service from anyone…i gotta live my life…

4g is a data only technology,thats why huko kwa settings kuna option ya 2G only 3G only but not 4G only
now thats where traffic gets in,the" infrastructure" in the area can handle the number of people
What if two parties on 4G establish a call? Will the call switch to switched circuit style network (3G) or maintain IP packet switched network (4G?) Safcom being in context & volte supported devices.
thay have to change to 3G or 2G
I’m pretty sure I used a tab with 4g only option during the weekend. Acha nikumbuke jina. It’s one of those cheap ones Safaricom is selling lately
Its not about traffic. Safaricom does this so that those who have data expiring that day do not go on to download movies and stuff before 00.00 That way those who have many GBs left and are not aware of the date as is usually the case will have their data wiped clean at 00.00.
These days safaricom data is troublesome through out. it loads pages half way because the connection is intermittent. You have to refresh pages again and again. At night between 20.00 and 00.00 data is sometimes not available at all.

My exact sentiments. Walianza huu ujinga just before they did away with the night bundles nonsense.

eeh. just before people complained about the bundles. That time they were doing this exactly between 21.00 and 00.00 so that your night bundle can expire before you use it. people made noise that night bundle isnt usable so they invented another scheme.

Nanyuki has 4G; surprised the’ ve left you out. Probably you have 4g in your environ just you’ve haven’t got the new sim and or phone. 3g is now like being on edge.
