Moi became president in his mid-fifties. He ruled for 24 years.
Ruto is about the same age as Moi when he became president.
History has shown that electing young presidents in a third-world country like Kenya is extremely risky.
The current president is already trying to find a backdoor.
Remember that the Musevenis and Kagames of this world all have one thing in common - they became presidents at a young age.
Museveni has been president since he was 41 years old. He has ruled for 36 years!!
Kagame became president at 42 years. He has been in power for over 22 years now.
Hii kiti ni kama cocaine buana. Ukionja hutaki kuacha.
This is why I will vote for Jakom because aging is a reliable insurance policy.
Pigieni jambazi sugu kura awakamue for 30 years like the morons you are.
If you are a middle-aged person, and you make the moronic decision of electing Jambazi Sugu, there is a good chance that he will rule for the rest of your life.
If Jakom turns out to be a terrible president, you can vote him out in 10 years. You can’t undo voting in Jambazi within that time frame. If you are wrong, you live with the consequences for 30 years.
Kibaki at 70 years did a great job. Hata moi after kuzeeka aliacha kukaza kamba. Old people have wisdom. Ndio maana Huwa tunaheshimu Muteso mijinga @Abba who is 69 years
In all honesty, there is no way of knowing who is the better leader between the two. However, one is younger and hence riskier than the other. I won’t vote for Raila because I think he is better. I will vote for him because he is less risky kuliko kupigia Jambazi kura atusumbue for three decades.
Even if Ruto took over, I don’t think he or anybody will ever be able to extend their rule past 10 years. i.e nobody can change term limits, Thats a stage Kenyans have gone past. Even Uhuru is having to pull complex scheams (BBI) to try and remain in some power position after 9-8-22.
Raila is the safest bet. Age has made him mellow and the fact is after 10 hears he’ll be close go 90 if he even lives that long.
I have always said Kenyatta 1 was the perfect first generation leader. For one, his age made him mellow and he was unlikely to take any radical actions to steer Kenya in untested waters.
Secondly, his age ensured he wouldnt rule long. Most of these first generation leaders were real hardheads. Many ruled for life or were overthrown in coups. Kenyatta himself ruled for life but he only had 14yrs left when he came to power. Imagine putting someone like the then youthfull Mboya in power… he would prolly still be power today
If you put a kijana like Ruto there it would be a big gamble. Constitutions have been changed to remove term limits and if Ruto takes this path he wont be the first leader to do it and definitely not the last. And he has the drive and intelligence to pull it off and he will also have 10yrs to engineer it
Ruto is a big gamble. Lets go with Raira this time round
Jayden has plans of overhauling the constitution through Jakuon. He has mellowed, yes, but another young man is behind him who wants to pull a fast ‘Putin’ one on us. Hapa my friend, we will gnash our teeth. Jayden I term will be child’s play.
Ile chess inapangwa, mtajionea.
But I am confident he will not win.
Uhuru isnt as driven or as ruthless as Ruto. Ruto is a teetoler who only dreams of power and women. Uhuru prolly misses going to Njugunas anonymously ama going to watch F1 races.
Ruto even tried to sideline Uhuru during his term. Yani the guy couldnt even wait for Uhuru to finnish his term
:D:D how now? I think you were played. That was a smokescreen from Jayden and his accomplices. It was the first among the many assaults on Ruto. They thought he would be frustrated into resigning. Obviously, it didn’t work. JSKS had another attribute that surprised many.
Yani you think struggling to purge Ruto from jubilee and removing ur namesake from parliamentary committees ni smoke screen?
What went on between Uhuru and Ruto was no smokescreen. It was a power struggle. Uhuru was simply trying to reclaim his presidency
Ruto has a long history of outmanouvering his senior. Thats how he became Eldoret North MP. Thats also how he outmanouvered Jirongo. And thats what he was planning to do to Kenyatta. Ruto is too clever for his own good
His presidency was diluted by Ruto’s manouvers. Yani Kenyatta couldnt even call a meeting of the Jubilee NDC because it was infested with Ruto’s men. kenyatta first had to make peace with Raila and then move on Ruto. This he succeeded. Kenyatta prolly promised Raira his support for the presidency in return.
Raira just had to sit back and watch as Kenyatta moved in on his main challenger for 2022
Konyagi will still remain a powerful man within Kenya. Yeye bado atakua VVIP and will have clout. But, Raira will be the one in charge.
For one, I doubt his party will gain many seats in the house. If he had managed to bag the entire Mt Kenya, then indeed he would have a sizeable number of people in the house. But the House Of Mumbi is divided. Ruto will definitely get votes there, thus diluting Konyagis ability marshall Kikuyu support.
So he will remain a powerful man, but not as powerful without 100% support from his Kyuk bretheren
Yep…I love how he wrestled rift Valley from mtukufu rais and his spoilt brat son…and he has single handedly dismantled kikuyu hegemony…it will take a whole generation for central kenya to come up with an alternative leadership after Ruto ( PhD) is done with them
