I am surprised they haven’t coupled the machine to factories that make biofuel out of the hyacinth. That’s what we need on Lake Victoria.

There is a similar one at Kenya Railways boat yard in Lake Victoria Kisumu. A failed world bank project done in 2000. A few months into the work, the hyacinth was pushed away from the shore to deeper into the lake. It then went further away. The boat was parked and forgotten. The Hyacinth came back a year later but the elections campaign was in full swing. I suspect it has been totally forgotten since.

There is another dredger at Lake Victoria that has been waiting to be commissioned for more than a year. Cant find the article.

This can give a new life to Nairobi Dam

We need to establish a teams that monitors and clears the hyacinth free from political interference. If staff and process are in place, Elections shouldn’t hinders any work from progressing.

Perhaps one of the sugar factories nearby can take on biofuel generation.
