House help goes missing after KSh 4m disappears from Treasury CAS’s house
The incident happened when Gaichuihe’s wife left for work with her children, leaving her behind.
Before switching off her phone, she was last captured by Safaricom mobile signal at Rongai in Kajiado county.
Police have launched a manhunt for a house help who allegedly made away with valuable goods from the home of Treasury Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Nelson Ributhi Gaichuihe.
“She left for work at around 7 am together with her children, leaving behind her housemaid a female aged 45 years in the house,” the report reads in part.
She returned from work at around 3 pm only to find Muinde missing. Waithira decided to check and ransack the house only to realize the jewelry and money that had been placed on top of a wardrobe by her husband were missing.
The maid who was highly suspected to have stolen the items was last captured by Safaricom mobile signal at Rongai in Kajiado county where it was switched off at 10 am on the incident day.
The scene was visited by officers attached to the Kenya Police Service and sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The officers established that there was no sign of a break-in at the scene of the crime.
The matter was being investigated by detectives attached to the Karen police station.
