Problems facing suppliers.

I swear hii kazi imekuwa ngumu. December a Nairobi wheat milling company went under with over 80m of suppliers money. Last year an Edroret maize milling plant went under with over 200m ya farmers and suppliers. I know a friend who supplied goods worth 3m, he currently picks a 9k cheque every month mpaka 3M iishe from the Eldoret mill. My only advantage is that I took flour worth my payment na bado sijauza yote.

Tena Leo after anitial agreement of supplying 6 trucks of maize cash, naenda Leo kuuliza RTGS payment nakuta cheques za June and the MD is no where to be seen. Nimekataa kuchukua the said cheques, hii ujinga siwezi. If I’m not working, hata yeye hakuna kazi atafanya for as long as it takes.

Instead of sourcing finances from banks we suppliers seem so be easier choice of cheap interest free loans. Enough is enough, punda imechoka!

mara ya mwisho ulikuwa na a flat or sijui plotty with a lot of time to spare hadi ulikuwa unauliza what to do…

By the way, unachana veve saa hii …or hii ni wazimu ya kujitia

ofcourse i mean kujitia kidole iko na kucha refu kwa mcoondu

Pole baba…

Trust me biashara ya cereals ni stress.

Boss, usikubali kuwa that low kwa the business food chain …utaungua vifaranga.

Ungebuy a mill from china at a cost of 1.2M

Siaga number 1 unga …and package it

Ita jina poa ka ‘Shiba’

Distribute kwa shops and wholesale

I mill kidogo small scale but biashara ya bibi, but the problem is that she can only do a 30tonne truck a week and I can’t depend on that. Maybe I should just concentrate on that so that we build the capacity.

In agricultural dependent businesses, try to be high up on the business food chain

Saa zingine bingwa huongea sense.
Great idea.

ile A- ya '94 ni wewe ulikalia hizo paper on my behalf?

Wah, izza bana. Mimi hii biz huiogopa kiasi.

We usually say ni kawaida ya biashara, but now imefika extreme. But all in all perseverance is key.

Imagine kama ni pesa ya loan, don’t know what I would do. A few years back there’s a lady who lost 2 actros trucks to auctioneers na saa hiyo anadai TSS maize milling ya Mombasa 8M.

I have seen severally suppliers wakikula hard. Unaenda kuchukua cheque 2wks after supplying unambiwa boss hayuko kusign cheques, unarudi after 1wk unakuta boss ameandika cheque ya 1month from the 3rd week that makes it 1.3months hapo unakunja mkia na ju hayuko you can confront him.

So unataka kusema pesa ha wakulima ni wakubwa wanakula kwanza alafu ikipatikana ndio watu wanalipwa? Poleni

Umeongea Kama elders kumi pamoja…

Don’t think ni wakubwa but the issue here is that millers wamezoea kufanya kazi na pesa ya watu. The problem is us suppliers tumewazoesha. Hata Unga LTD, famous for exe na hostess, kupata order payment ni after a month considering where you source your produce you pay cash.

I deal in many types of cereals coz everything is seasonal, kuna season ya maize, wheat, beans, sorghum, soya, sunflower seeds, turtle beans (njahi especially December during circumcision season Central) etc. Its then difficult to concentrate on one produce, but with hard work and Gods grace we’re getting there. Thanks for the advice.

How do you get these contracts to supply?

Bingwa si mjinga ni ujinga hukataa kumwacha.

Sio mbaya ni watu wamekuwa cons.Hao watu sio pesa hawana, they just want to maximise use of their current revenue then pay after it has yielded. They might overstay with your money but will eventually pay.
