Prince Alemayehu ,an African boy buried among the royals in England. (The British have refused with his remains)

He was the son of Emperor Tewodros II.
Prince Alemayehu was brought to England after his father, Emperor Tewodros II killed himself as British forces stormed his mountain-top palace in northern Ethiopia in 1868.
After his father’s death his mother tried to escape with him, unfortunately she also died along the way leaving prince Alemayehu a total orphan at the age of 7.
So the young and now orphaned prince was put on board a Royal Naval ship and sent to Britain along with other artefacts stolen from Ethiopia.
In England he lived under the care of queen victoria ,but still he was never happy with the life in England .His continual pleas to be returned to his homeland Ethiopia were always ignored.
Prince Alemayehu died in 1879 at the age of 18 after contracting Pleurisy and was buried at windsor castle ,far a way from his home Africa where he longed to go back.
In Eulogising him Queen Victoria mentioned him in her diary, saying ,what a good and kind boy he had been and how sad it was that he should die so far from his family. She also mentioned how very unhappy the prince had been, and how conscious he was of people staring at him because of his colour.
The orphaned seven-year-old was adopted by Queen Victoria and educated at Sandhurst military academy.
In 2019, the Queen refused to allow the repatriation of his bones, but in wake of a new book about his life campaigners have renewed calls to return them.
One of his descendants Fasil Minas told the BBC: ‘We want his remains back as a family and as Ethiopians because that is not the country he was born in’, and added ‘it was not right’ for him to be buried in the UK.
But a Buckingham Palace spokesman said: ‘It is very unlikely it would be possible to exhume the remains without disturbing the resting place of a substantial number of others in the vicinity [in the catacombs of St George’s Chapel].’
The statement added that the palace also had a ‘responsibility to preserve the dignity of the departed’.

I once was interested in knowing about the continued lineage of some of our former kings and emperors. I realized that most of the descendants of mentionable kings were now living abroad which means that to date, the whites still carry pieces of our heritage in one way or another. Descendants of Haile Selassie, kings of Rwanda, Burundi. King of Buganda also came back from abroad after restoration of kingdoms. Yes, in most cases they were deposed but long after they are still abroad
