President Samia to Inaugurate East Africa Commercial and Logistics Centre (EACLC) East Africa's Largest Trade and Logistics Hub – Over 2,060 Shops, 65,000 Jobs Created - Ubungo, Dar es Salaam Tanzania

President Samia Suluhu Hassan is set to officially inaugurate the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Centre (EACLC) located in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, marking a major milestone in regional trade infrastructure.

The announcement was made by Mr. Gilead Teri, Director General of the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), who highlighted the center’s strategic importance in boosting Tanzania’s exports and driving regional economic integration.

“This center will play a key role in enhancing our country’s trade competitiveness, supporting thousands of Tanzanian businesses to expand beyond our borders,” said Mr. Teri.

  • 2,060+ retail and wholesale shops
  • 15,000 direct jobs
  • Over 50,000 indirect jobs in logistics, warehousing, services, and supply chains

Located along a major transit corridor, the center is envisioned to become East Africa’s leading logistics and investment zone, facilitating trade across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
