I have just read, with great interest, the first, in a four part series, of lee Njiru’s memoirs.
It chronicles his days in the corridors of power from the time of the Burning spear to when the man from Kuriengwo closed his eyes forever. Close to 4 decades.
Now, the part that is relevant for today is the one where he states that the troops of students and teachers that went to entertain Kenyatta either in Mombasa or Nakuru were chewed by his aides.
He specifically says that older schoolgirls were eaten by aides,DO’s and teachers. While the teachers were eaten by bureaucrats who promised them job promotions and other goodies.
Does it mean that this thing of men being advised to leave your wife once she is into politics has some sound basis backed up by empirical evidence.
Remind me later to tell you of a hekaya where I also chewed someone while on a campaign trail.

ability to pair bond is not the only reason. Youthfulness parallels with fertility.
An older girl ordinarily ameongezwa mileage sana. Not to mention her looks are rapidly fading. In most cases she’s settling. She’ll then spend the rest of her life pining for the old lovers of yesteryears.
A young girl on the other hand has the capability to fall deeply in love, and develop emotional attachment. She’s also in the best physical condition to procreate.
