I can’t speak for the world or indeed all of Africa, but high fuel prices are more common it seems; see here. That said, we shouldn’t be forced to bend over for a shafting because we can’t control corruption and waste in government/public sector.

Towards the end of nusu mkate govt, petrol was sh120. What happened to flaking that brought the prices down?
