They have been wooing the Chinese for as long as I got a ‘serious’ job. Have had those convos with some guys here. That is who the Chinese are and the Brits have met their match and been outmatched!!. I try and separate work and mwinjoyo on this forum so will leave it.
Britain would be nothing without their (financial) services sector. Currently, the country’s manufacturing base contributes less than 20 per cent of GDP, which for a developed country is pretty low. The Brits know that the next guys to have money to splash around, after the Russian oligarchs, are the thousands of billionaires which China is minting by the day.
Sneaky, yes, but smart. They conquered the world that way.
The British used to brag that the sun never set on their empire. Now their empire is the size of a matchbox if you compare what they controlled 200 years ago. Lunch is no longer free and the total cows is laden with unbearable debt. Second most indebted nation on earth.
Britain, just like the USA, is controlled by (mostly Jewish) financiers. The true rulers of the United Kingdom are not found in Buckingham Palace, No. 10 Downing St. or Windsor Castle but in the City of London Corporation (the Square Mile) and Canary Wharf.
Baron Nathan Rothschild of the infamous Rothschild family arrogantly bragged:
“I don’t care what puppet is placed on the throne of England to rule the Empire … The man that controls Britain’s money supply controls the British Empire. And I control the money supply.”
In Kenya, the Brits were very faithful allies of President Daniel arap Moi. Ethnic clashes, endemic corruption or election rigging did not deter London. When Mwai Kibaki entered the scene in 2002, he ushered in a new order. Suddenly, there were no more defence contracts, unrestricted access to the President or favoured access for British business. The Chinese were asserting themselves with Kibaki’s “look East” policy.
We tend to forget that the English are particularly morally schizophrenic. They truly believe the world is a better place because they “spread civilization” in their colonies.
With this extraordinary self delusion, the Brits can organise military coups that places the likes of Idi Amin in power, sell weapons to apartheid South Africa, designate Nelson Mandela as a terrorist, sell opium to China by force for over 2 centuries, destroy Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc
There’s nothing particularly smart about that. It’s purely nasty, brutish and unsustainable behaviour.
