As much as it sounds crazy I totally agree with you, the issue with Oliech is that he spent his money on women and bad investments, trusted family members entirely to make good judgement of his earnings until later when cent by cent started going through the drain. By the time he came to realize its too late and his best years had gone by. My eyebrows were raised when he came back to play for Gor, not because of the love for the game but out of desperation.

Oliech played in France for 10 years. That takes hard work and discipline. No Kenyan player in any team sport has accomplished what Oliech accomplished.
Kenyans who succeed in Europe are usually defensive players. It is very difficult for an attacking player to succeed in Europe. Oliech is the only attacking player who played in a top European league for 10 years. This does not happen by chance. Ni hard work, bidii, discipline.

Oliech overcame a lot of disadvantages. Being Kenyan is a disadvantage because European teams don’t want Kenyans. Growing up playing with ball ya jwala instead of being in a football academy is a huge disadvantage.
