Stumbled upon an advert kwa telegram where some okuyu chieth anauzia watu vision in the form of puroti maguta maguta. Nothing special or unique only that it got me thinking. Why would an educated fellow in his right mind buy an eighth of an acre 50km from the CBD? Even worse, after the 50km unaingia ndani 6.5km ndio ufike kwa infestment? We need to change our education system. Either that ama tubadilishe maji tunakunywa Nairobi. Inatufanya tukuwe wajinga wasio na kifani. Anyway, to each his own. Let me be thinned by mine.

Kwani CBD ya Nairobi ndio tu mahali Wakenya huishi? Is CBD the center of the world?
Some people are brainwashed to think they can only survive or make money in Nairobi. Sio kupenda kwao.
Hii ni shida ya baluya wajinga wanaacha shamba kubwa wezdan ya sukari anakuja nairopi kuwa soldier.
Watu bure sana na vile wanazaana kama panya!!
The further away from the city the better provided I don’t have to come to town to work…mimi nilienda kitengela kama bado ni msitu 12 years ago, sai itabidi nisonge kwa sababu town ya kite ishanifikia…but I get you, if you buying far then atleast get an acre kuendelea not an eighth
Hii story tushachambua. There’s no use telling losers about it anymore
Far from where? Like it’s been asked is CBD the center of the world??
Kama ulinunua shamba ni sawa tuu sina ubaya. Thing is, you are deluded to think that someone living between kajiado and namanga would buy a plot 6.5km from the tarmac for 550k when he knows very well that mashamba acres huko yanapeanwa kama kutupa. The marketing is directed at ofis wakas who are too busy and lazy to look around.
From work…and also this could be far from nearest town which is kitengela Town…for some of us we need banks, markets for our produce, schools, and proper infrastructure including roads and water. Alafu pia sisi watu wa western we consider any distance after nairobi to be too far from home…tuelewe tumetoka mbali
Sinunui shamba tena. I rather risk my money in stocks n bonds. Shamba zimejaa ma tapeli wengi.
Wachana na huyo mpuzi anafikiria watu Kajiado huwa wananunua plots kwa Bundu’s.
If you are going to buy so far and for that amount the least you should be getting is an acre ! 1/8 you can even have a small decent back garden
Are referring to your personal case ama in general because not everyone residing in or around Nairobi works or accesses CBD?
On a vile unaleta menses.
You wish! Mashamba wazazi walinunua to last several generations.
3 yrs ago took my mum to malaa to see some plots…After assessing the situation on ground I cautioned her not buy but she bought 2 commercial plot next to the road… juzi she got an a very good offer to sell them and she turned it down… I had the money but I thought I was too clever but sukuizi more and more kenyans are moving away from nairobi. The plots are now worth 3 times the buying price…
Somebody has to give the junkies what they want. Most people are not awake to the fact that land prices will no longer skyrocket as fast as they used to. Saa hii land speculation you need to do some serious research juu in future, the population won’t grow as fast as it did. That means demand for land will continue to decline during our lifetime.
During our parents’ era, they could buy land literally anywhere and cash out in 10+ years. Most people never cared to investigate why the prices were skyrocketing but its because the population was growing fast and people need a place to live. The future of land speculation in Kenya depends on predicting migration patterns correctly. The era of buying land anywhere and cashing out is over.
