Many Cuban Americans identify as whites and are classified as Whites. And they are often well educated and come from much wealthier homes than their Mexican counterparts.
Cuba has a large white population comprising 65% of the population. Maybe that’s why the racist American government let them in back in 1980… who knows.
American Cubans also get many benefits including faster citizenship than African and Mexican immigrants. Cuban Americans are also majority Republicans unlike Mexicans and other South Americans who vote Democrat.
Cuban Americans consider Democrats as socialists and they have no love for the socialists who chased them away from their country.
But that 65% figure is highly debatable due to the fucking that goes on between the races in Cuba.
So Cuba is 65% white, 25% mulatto or Mestizo or half caste and 10% blacks.
There is also a large degree of racism in Cuba itself despite it being a socialist state. Blacks in Cuba are often much poorer than their white neighbours.

All immigrants to the U.S suffered a degree of racism.
There was a time the Irish were treated worse than blacks. The Poles, the Jews, the Chinese, the Italians… they all get some bruising even to this very day.
And there is a slur word for each immigrant community. The Jews started from the bottom and today they have their piece of the American dream. Same for the Chinese, Poles, Italians, the Irish, the Greeks, the Ukrainians, the Cubans, you name it. And yet they all found Black Americans in the U.S and Black Americans bado wanawika tu mashida…
Latinos have no specific race my friend. I mean we have White Latinos, Mulatos and black latinos. Charlie Sheen the famous actor is a Latino, specifically he is a White Latino.
What you don’t understand is that in the US, the categorization of “white” race keeps on changing. At the beginning, the term “whites” referred only to Anglosaxons. Mostly Britons and Germans. Later on It was expanded to most of Western Europeans. The exceptions were the Italians and the Irish who were considered backward and not fully “white” because their countries were poor. Even by early 20th century this was still the case. Eastern Europeans were also not considered whites. The same applied to the Jews. Even the census during early 20th century did not classify these groups of people as white. However, by the end of the 20th century, all those groups I have mentioned above were considered white. The latinos are in the process of being considered white. So Patco don’t argue with me when I say Latinos are white because I know in 20 years they will be referred to as white. Only African Americans, Native Americans and Chinese/ Indians with darker skin tone will remain to be non-white. African Americans will never be considered white because the white man has an inherent hatred for darker skin tones.
They are not assigned the term White, they assigned themselves the word White. You reffer to yourself as black or African. No one forced you to assign yourself to that race. So don’t say that Mexicans will be reffered to as whites.
You must understand that all the South Americans come from distinct backgrounds and cultures. Even within the Mexicans themselves there are other sub-cultures just as in Kenya we are not just Kenyans but we break it down further into tribes, subtribes, clans etc.
You Tony254 you want to lump people into what they are not. Cuban Americans chose to reffer to themselves as whites.
And it gets even more complicated. There are black Americans who don’t consider themselves just black because they have all manner of backgrounds including some Indian bloodlines. Anyway these are petty matters that shouldn’t really bother you. As long as you are alive make the best use of your time.

Lets not forget for instance Italians especially Sicialian migrants were routinely blamed for non existent crimes and lynched alongside blacks in the late 1800s
If you watch that Scorsese film, The Gangs of New York you will get a feel of how all new immigrants were often treated like shit.
Native Americans were similarly brutalised. The Chinese were similarly brutalised. And for many immigrants ilikuwa ni kucheza chini and hide your identity kikiumana. Yet many of them carved their piece of the American dream. African Americans are still crying for reparations even after getting an African American president!
Mind you the Chinese Americans also hope to one day see their son or daughter leading America! They say that they built the railroads and deserve some respect.
The Native Americans lost hope, yet they were the original Americans. Mexicans are also waiting for their chance. A huge chunk of the U.S used to be theirs.
Italian Americans are also waiting for their chance to lead the U.S.
The Indians from India as well as Pakistanis are also hoping that one day…
The people of Hawaii are hoping that the Rock can represent and get to the high seat even though he is half black…
In short African Americans are not the only minority but they sure are the loudest.
And of course statistics are fake if they don’t favour your home team. Hio ni kawaida ya binadamu.
But they suffered the most. Right?
