No one talks about IPPs/high cost of power anymore

Kenyans pay the highest electricity cost in Africa. For instance, Kenyans pay USD 0.26 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) compared to Ethiopians who pay only USD 0.006. Yes we pay a whopping 43 times what Ethiopians pay!!!
*In the US, the average electricity price for residential customers is around $0.161 per kWh (Ksh 20.6)In Kenya, the average price is around $0.26 per kWh (Ksh 33.60) for domestic consumers
Yet no one talks about IPPs that have made power to be obscenely expensive in Kenya. When all these presidential candidates are asked about their policies, it is all vague BS about fighting ‘corruption’. And voters don’t even seem to care. In 2022, was there any single presidential candidate who talked about dismantling IPPs???- of course the shadowy figures behind those IPPs bankroll the politicians.
You expect maraga or matiangi or ruto or whoever will become president to dismantle IPPs? Why don’t they talk about IPPs???
And this is a country that wants to industrialise???
In fact, it is Ethiopia not kenya that will become Africa’s factory.
When I discovered that elections will never ever change this country, I gave up. Let me continue supporting Ruto OUT OF sheer contempt for Kenyans.
When you figure out why all of your ‘saviours’- raila, ruto, matiangi, maraga, omtatah- never talk of true changes like dismantling IPPs, you will have learnt a lot about kenya and probably you will massacre up to 80% of your hopes.
PS
What other citizens pay
Rwanda (USD 0.10), Senegal (USD 0.12), Tunisia (USD 0.08), Namibia (USD 0.09), DRC (USD 0.07), Cameroon (USD 0.11), Sierra Leone (USD 0.14), Liberia (USD 0.13), Lesotho (USD 0.10), Zimbabwe (USD 0.09), India (USD 0.08), Bangladesh (USD 0.07), Indonesia (USD 0.10), Vietnam (USD 0.08), Pakistan (USD 0.09), Philippines (USD 0.13), Brazil (USD 0.12), Mexico (USD 0.11), Turkey (USD 0.15), and Malaysia (USD 0.10)

The problem is that Kenya is adamant on green energy

Trying to dismantle IPP’s while running for President is like trying to dismantle a drug cartel while running for Mayor. Eventually, someone is going to put you in the ground.
