Nissan Juke

Anyone who owns one? Experiences?

Let’s not dwell on the looks ama kama ni gari mwanaume anafaa kuwa akiendesha.

Comparing it to the smaller ‘dudu’ type of cars (Vitz, Demio, Fit, Note, Swift) :-

  • should be as reliable
  • reasonable fuel economy
  • better ground clearance (important for me)

If you have suggestions for another small SUV/Crossover type, petrol, not more than 1,500cc, and not more than KES. 1.5m, let’s hear it.

Edit #1: Naona watu wanasema Nissan CVTs might be problematic. Will look more into this, thanks

Hello.

  1. Kindly stop comparing SUV with Hatchbacks.
  2. Reliability? Relative
  3. Fuel Economy? Yes
    4.Better ground clearance? Yes {For small SUV}

Pole. Kidogo nisahau.
I would recommend Peugeot 2008

Huogopi hio gearbox yake? I see people complaining about it in online forums.

Gear box za Nissan ziko na shida inaonekana

[li]Get the 1600 cc either turbo charged or N/A.[/li][li]For the Auto version help Nissan re-engineer the vehicle by fitting a transmission cooler.[/li][li]Auto version service the transmission i.e. fluid and filter changes every 50k Kms. Also use proper Nissan CVT fluid.[/li][li]Ground clearance is better than Swift, Fit, Demio[/li][li]Its boot is small.[/li][li]Lastly get one in darker colours; black, dark shades of blue. It reduces the ugliness of the car.[/li][/ol]

Thanks. I know there’s no comparison between SUV na hatchback. Maybe I should have framed as - from someone who wants to step up from hatchback, which is a reasonably priced and economical SUV to get

Thanks. Not too bad. Hii sio gari ata nilikuwa najua kuhusu. Will look more into it.

  1. Why the 1600cc & not 1500cc? Mimi nilikuwa naangalia 1500cc.
  2. Have seen people mention this, will have to read more or engage a Nissan mechanic.
  3. Noted, in addition to point #2
  4. Still enough for my needs

Thanks sana for your input. Uko na experience na hiyo gari ama Nissan CVTs? Naona ni kama they can be problematic.

Question not directed to me but the cvt is ok. If you do longer distances on the highway or you have a habit of sustaining a speed of 100kph/ for more than 30 minutes on the highway then you need an aftermarket cooler (costs about 20k to pay for hardware and installation). It is a fantastically good car. One of the best Nissan that money can buy. They are super cars and their pricing in Kenya should be taken advantage of. Word of advice. You a blissful ownership, be a DIY fanatic and have all repairs done at your promises under your supervision. Source parts and lubes yourself. Especially the CVT fluid (you cannot compromise on this)

Thanks for the advise

With that kind of money why don’t you start looking at the tiguan?

Gari swafee sanaaa. Nafasi ya nyuma ndio mbovu sana.

Nissan CVT transmission itakuchoma kama kaswende.

Nissan CVT transmission is always problematic.

Nunua mapikipiki elder

A friend has one.
1600cc mostly comes as standard with Manual transmission thereby bypassing the CVTs.
Overall its an okay car, not fast, flashy etc.

Spare parts na maintenance ya Peugeot 2008 niaje hii Kenya yetu? Iko mtu anapiga hesabu, hard to choose between Peugeot 2008 and Nissan Juke.

Please share any information you have gathered on the Peugeot 2008. I can’t seem to find any reviews from Kenyan space.
