Neymar is lacking in motivation to pull on the Paris Saint-Germain jersey to the point that he sat out the club’s 5-0 win over Angers in order to keep himself fresh for international duty, it has been claimed.

The forward, who joined the Ligue 1 club in the summer for a world-record £198million, missed Unai Emery’s side’s latest walkover on Saturday with a knock.

Emery told reporters before the game: ‘Neymar had a small blow to his muscle and didn’t feel well this morning. I spoke with the doctors and with him and we decided it’s best if he stays in Paris.’

However, on reporting for training with Brazil on Tuesday the 25-year-old’s fitness was not even mentioned, with the team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, revealing Philippe Coutinho to be his only concern.

And according to Spanish publication Sport, Neymar has little interest in playing for his club outside of the Champions League, such is his disillusion with the level he has found himself playing against.

PSG are already four points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and have dropped just four points all season. Neymar has scored seven and set up a further six goals in just eight league appearances this season.

the Brazilian linked to a sensational move to Real Madrid as they look for a long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne

with the kind of money he is bagging ???..that alone is enough for motivation…articles just trying to be relevant

Neymar wants to play for Madrid, his transfer to PSG indicated so…it’s only a matter of time before he starts angling for that move.

neymar stays :D:D…troll them

Its not just money but prestige of being the top player in the world. After Ronaldo and Messi he was the 3 best player. Now he has traded Spain to 5 best league in the world. He is playing teams weekly where the results is nearly certain a win for PSG. Monaco who were their only challenger got broken apart in the transfer window. He is facing easy games and French league doesn’t get global TV audiences.

to early with that easy games man…uefa is the top league and the team is doing great, apart from epl the rest leagues are not far apart with global audience in eu…if they dont make it to the finals then thats another case, but for now thats a cheap article, also astonished its not from,we know them with cheap criticisms …

he will know he doesn’t know, was a cheap move from him

Champions league, Premiership, LA Liga, Bundesliga, Seria A then French league. Hapo ndio shida. On a weekend which one would you rather watch. Maybe 1 in 20 will say French league. That’s where the 3 best player in the world has relegated himself to.

its only you and Harry Slavin the online journalist who see it as a relegation…ONLY YOU TWO GUYS

I think he thought he’d be the star of the team. Nowadays the front line for PSG is like the Barca one - very dangerous such that even the odds for any PSG game are priced sooooooooo low.

Young men with money and egos tend to have problems fitting in.

And without global coverage like the Spanish and English league, then he might be realising that he made a slight mistake. I’m sure he wants to win three champions league. And for him to do so he must accept where he is and play like there’s no tomorrow.

if it is true, ferk him.
if it is not, ferk the gutter press

PSG is a stepping stone. He knows he will not achieve global recognition while in France. he will probably bounce back to Spain(real madrid) or EPL.

More people in Brazil watch their own league than French league. Even at home he doesn’t grace their TV’s every weekend as usual.

If this is the case ,then he will have to switch

Unless PSG agree on their own to she then he is there to stay for the duration of his contract. His release clause must be massive I.e $1 billion. This is just a lesson to future stars that money isn’t everything.

Now he is probably wishing he didn’t leave Barca because he would have had the motivation to surpass Messi and become the main man.

Ligue 1 is no place for a football superstar in his prime. He should have stayed in Barca or move to the EPL where competition would push him to the limit, supertalented individuals dont do well in easy challenges

Its was a very good deal from PSGs’ and the whole Ligue 1 point of view.
