Easter is almost over and I haven’t taken my family out. I intend to take them on a road trip ya one day. Please note.
I have a 1300 cc car so sitaki kuenda mahali kuna milima ilemewe.
I intend to go and come back the same day.
I have a 8 months small girl.
Budget is unlimited.
My wife is from Eastern so nothing those sides will amuse her.
I am from Nyanza Mai Mahiu Narok is not an option.

I took a car with a smaller engine to Mt. Elgon National Park na haikusumbua, so don’t be afraid of milima, it’s a road trip, what’s the rush.
Anyways, personally my next toad trip will be toward the south west of Kenya, side za Magadi and further towards lake amboseli and the park.
You could choose this route.
Alternatively, you could go towards Mt. Kenya, maybe to Ngare Ndare forest

Chaka is overrated in my opinion.
The girl is free of charge in all places you go to. A night at tafaria will be 11k per person on full-board.
You could also try sirville lodge in elementaita… Relatively new. Check them out online before booking.

I just want to stay during the day.
How about you go to lake elementaita. Since the only thing you want is to enjoy a good Easter with your family. You could go there (not the hotels) just the lake itself (you pay kws 200per person), carry a small meko and have the lady make ready to cook things like meatballs, mince meat, etcetc…ukifika huko, set up at a nice place, arrange your things and make yourselves lunch beside the lake. Hang out and have a good private time talking and enjoying wine or beer (there are usually no people huko, aside from one or two herders). The goal is to enjoy quality time away from home, then ikifika time drive back to Nairobi without a hurry. It will be a manageable yet enjoyable road trip for a day.
Personally I dislike hotels, when I travel I prefer to camp. It’s more adventurous, less expensive, and I usually feel more relaxed.

I think you should have gone for the day road trip today coz tomorrow there will be crazy jams getting into Nairobi from MT Kenya region (Thika road),Western region (Nairobi-Nakuru highway),Eastern/Coast region etc etc.
So utapata getting to a destination is fine lakini getting back to Nairobi is a nightmare!
