Ukamba wa masaku pia no power

The national grid and all substations should be taken away from Kenya Power and given to Kentraco. Kenya power and other competitors will then tap that power from the substations and distribute to homes, businesses and industry. That will be my submission when the bill to split Kenya power and reform the sector is presented in parliament.

When will this be. I have always wanted the government to do away with power monopoly. Imagine if we had different companies supplying power? I bet 95% of country would be in national grid by now.

Monopoly should end…but first tuambiwe Who are the real owners of IPPs

I saw the draft bill, it will be a private members bill so a lot of lobbying is taking place to bring concession first before its presented in the house. Hopefully then government will endorse the concessions and adopt it. It will then be up to leader of majority Hon. Duale to present it.
