Correction, as @Simiyu22 said above, Embakasi comes from Em-pakasi. Babu zangu from the Maasai side used to graze their cattle there.

On the border between machakos and kajiado and machakos there is a place called emphakasi. Confuses people much.

And the mountain is names after the ostrich because its white top and black slopes resemble the bird’s plummage. The mountain is also the home of Ngai, God. Ngai is also called Mwene Nyaga, literally owner of the ostrich (mountain)
